“Post Early”

Big Mails Expected CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS A large overseas mail, the last before Christmas, is due in Auckland shortly. On December 17 the Niagara will arrive from Sydney with a big consignment of Australian mail. Tlie following day there will be another Sydney boat in, as well as letters from the United Kingdom and America, via Wellington. Second-class mails, packages and papers, will arrive in Auckland on December 19. The outgoing mail to Vancouver will leave by the Niagara on December 18. Mails for the rest of New Zealand should bo posted at Auckland the week before Christmas in order to make sure that it will reach its destination at the proper time. The incoming and outgoing mails will clash with the local rush, thus making it a particularly busy time for post office officials. Sunday tailing two days before Christmas Day adds to the difficulties, as there will be no goods trains South on that day, and Monday will be too late for parcels to reach the Southern stations in time to be delivered before Christmas Day.
