Sir George Elliot was a passenger on the Limited last evening for 'Wellington. The Rev. Dr. W. Erwin, of Christchurch, went South last evening on t he Limited. Mr. A. H. Norman arrived in Auckland this morning by the first express from the South. Mr. S. J. Paviour-Smith and Mr. D. paviour-Smith have sailed on a trip to America and Europe. Major-General It. Young. 0.8., P.M.G., D. 5.0., G.0.C.. New Zealand Forces, arrived rrom ‘Wellington this morning by the Limited. Major-General Sir George Richardson, accompanied by Miss R. Richard - son, left London on October 27 by the oronsay for Australia, en route to New Zealand. Mr. E. Taylor, who has been in business as an engineer in Russell for a number of years has been appointed manager of the Union Foundry Company, New Plymouth. He leaves Russell shortly to take up his new duties. Sir Granville Ryrie, the Australian High Commissioner in London, has bef'n ordered by his doctor to rest at home for another four or five weeks. He moves about in an invalid chair to rest his leg, but is able to attend to work taken from Australia House daily.
