NOXIOUS WEEDS

EFFORTS TO CLEAR ONE TREE HILL Reference to the noxious weeds nuisance in the Campbell Road area and on the Merrilands Estate was made in a report submitted to the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening by Mr. W. Tole, sanitary inspector. Mr. Tola mentioned that a number of property owners in the districts referred to had ignored notices to clear their land of noxious weeds. The month allowed for completing the work had expired, but in order that the desired result might bo achieved without resort to legal proceedings, fresh notices had been issued asking that the clearing be commenced within seven days. The inspector’s action was approved. The building inspector reported that during tho last month he had issued 10 building permits, seven being for dwellings valued at £5,900.
