WELLINGTON COLLECTOR RETIRING Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Several important changes in the staff of the Customs Department are announced to-day. Mr. E. T. W. Maclaurin, collector at Wellington for some years, will retire on superannuation at the end of the year, and will be replaced by Mr. A. Paul, who is at present sub-collector at Wellington. Mr. Paul joined the service at Dunedin in 18911. The following promotions are announced: —Mr. G. H. Cornes, assistant sub-collector, at Auckland, to be subcollector at Wellington. Mr. J. Gray, examining- officer at Wellington, to be assistant sub-col-lector at Wellington. Mr. W. N. Waugh, collector. Blenheim, to be examining-officer at Wellington. Mr.'C. W. Beattie, assistant examin-ing-officer at Christchurch, to be collector at Blenheim. Mr. E. G. Taylor, clerk. Wellington, to be assistant examining -officer at Christchurch.
