OPENING ON SATURDAY N Y.M.C.A. ACTIVITIES Tli© opening of the new Y.M.C.A. Camp Lodge, erected by means of a subscription of £BOO from the Rotary Club, will take place next Saturday. This was reported at the annual meeting of the Auckland Young Men’s Christian Association last evening, by the president, Mr. W. J. lioldsworth. An outline of the work done by the association for the community was given by Mr. C. J. Tunks, who said, although the association was sometimes criticised for soliciting linancial help, it had never been and never could be, entirely self-supporting. Short addresses were given by Messrs. A. Mill, J. G. Smith, R. IT. Horsley, B. B. Hooper and IT. G. Fountain. Mr. M. T>. Grocott, a member of the New Zealand National Council of he Y.M.C.A., said the Auckland Association seemed to have done splendid work and to be flourishing. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. C. H. Furness; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. C. Caughey, W. R. Filingham and H. G. Fountain; directors, Messrs. H. K. Jenkins, M.P., E. E. Kitchener, J G. Smith, C. J. Tunks, W. J. Holdsworth, and W. E. Bush; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. H. Tlowley; lion, solicitor. Mr. J. B. Johnstone; auditor, Mr. B. L. Bagnall. At the conclusion of th© meeting riio presentation of awards won in the gymnasium championships was made as follows: Championship—R. Lewis, 235 i points, 1; L. Rice, -lUi points, 2; N. Middleton. 207 points, 3. Junior business men: W. Elsby, 53£ points, 1; G. Luke, 492 points, 2; A. R. Short, 49.| points, 3. Novices: S. J. Miller, 229.1 points, 1; A. R. Anderson, 201 points, 2; R. Steel, 194£ points. 3. Greatest improvement: H. W. Gardiner. Boys’ Section —Business and senior boys: C. Paus, 135 A points, 1; S. Odlin. 3 232 points, 2; A. R. Wykes, 119 points, 3.
