BUSY BURGLARS
CHRISTCHURCH CONDUCTOR ROBBED (Special to THE SUNJ CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Thieves stole sirms of money and numerous articles from the home of Mr. V. C. Peters while he was conducting a concert given by the Harmonic Society cm Saturday evening. Mr. Peters's war pension, which he had drawn on Friday, and a considerable sum of money from ticket sales oil behalf of the Harmonic Society was taken. Three dozen gramophone records, a new travelling rug, a gold presentation fountain pen, and a pair of opera glasses are also among the missing articles. The floor was littered with objects which the industrious thieves had scattered. Ink was spijt on the carpets, drawers were emptied, and the contents of .wardrobes thrown out. The intruders searched all the pockets in each of Mr. Peters’s suits, and inspected his correspondence. The burglars were probably disturbed, for a purse containing money was left on the kitchen table.
