Gane, of Cambridge, have returned from a trip to Sydney, where they met their daughter Eileen, who for the last three years has been in England. ' Mrs. E. E. Haywood and Miss Helen Haywood have returned to Hamilton from a visit to Australia. - Mrs. Clemow, who has been holidaying in Sydney, returned to Cambridge on Wednesday. * * * Mrs. Murray, of Orango, Cambridge, has returned to her home after a holiday in Australia. * * * Miss Humphreys, Dominion Secretary of Hr. Barnado’s Homes, is the guest of Mrs. Carter in Union Street. * * * Mrs. A. W. Barmby, of New York, who has been visiting friends in Hamilton, has left for Rotorua and Taupo. * * * Mrs. Harke, of Whangarei, is the guest of Mrs. Hammerton. # * # Mrs. F. Jolly is holidaying at the Thames Coast. * * * YOUNG PEOPLE'S HANCE On Thursday evening the Cathedral Young People’s Club arranged a flannel dance as a finale to a very happy winter season. The hall was gay with multi-coloured streamers and lanterns. Bright music was played by the Collegian Orchestra. The host and hostess were Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Curling. Mrs. Curling was wearing a graceful frock of black accordion-pleated georgette with a beautiful floral shawl. Among those present were: Misses Mary Barber, M. Wilson, Margaret Barber, M. Hewitson, R. Carter, H. Clapham, C. Vautier, E. Wilson, M. Tombs, T. Clegg, A. Wilson, M. King, K. Peebles, M. Gwynee, N. Capper, V. Capper, Matheson, A. Tapp, V. W T hitlock, O. Lock, H. Sweeney, N. Jackson, H. Wilson, K. Peebles. * * * BRIDGE PARTIES On Friday evening Miss N. Drake and Miss Blackett gave a jolly little party for some of their bridge-playing friends in the card room of the Lyceum Club. Miss Drake was wearing a mist-tinted frock and Miss Blackett a blue floral crepe de chine. Their guests were: Mrs. Speedy, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Shaw, Mrs. J. D.\Smith, Mrs. G. Primrose, Miss E. Eggleston, Miss G. Eggleston, Miss Speedy, Miss M. Hodgson, Miss Nutsford, Miss Airey, Miss G. Devenzy, Miss Murray, Miss O. Rowe. * * * The Women’s Bridge Circle at Te Aroha had a very jolly evening on Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Frear and Miss Frear. Progressive bridge was played, the highest score being obtained by Mrs. Wright. A hospitable supper ended a very bright evening.
