EAST AFRICA’S FUTURE
GOVERNORS TO BE CONSULTED DECISION EARLY (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Monday. The ‘‘Manchester Guardian” comments on the anouncement that Sir Edward Grigg, Governor of Kenya Colony, and Sir Donald Cameron, Governor of Tanganyika, have been summoned to England to consult the Secretary of State for the Dominions, Mr. L. S. Amery, upon the Hilton-Young Commission’s report. The paper says a decision will shortly be made concerning the future of East Africa. This decision will involve no less a question than whether the Empire will pursue in her dependencies the policy of bringing greater prosperity and happier relationships, or one involving an increase of racial hatred, paralysing conflicts, economic unrest and general distrust among the other Powers of Britain’s good faith.
