ROUND THE MOON The luminous circle round the moon ; s due to the refraction of the light myriads of tiny ice particles, suspended high up in the air like cirrus 1 ouds. The corona or greasy ring °und the moon is caused by tJie ■Dreading of the light rays by small Va Pour passing between us the moon.
