TRANSPORT BOARD ACT OMISSION CANDIDATE NOMINATED The motion of Mr. E. w Foote aeoonded by Mr. J. Roberts, that the chairman of the Mount Roskill Road Board. Mr E. F. Jones, be nominated as p. candidate tor the Transport Board unanimously supported by the Road Board at its meeting last evening. A difference of opinion was expressed as to the advisability of nominating a second candidate, but Mr. S. Searborough pointed out that the action of the Onehunga Boro'ugh Council in nominating two candidates had been adversely commented upon, and as it was essential for the progress of the district that Mount Roskill should have a representative on the board, he thought the position would be endangered more than one norriination were submitted. This course was ultimately adopted. Mr. S. I. Gooda.ll drew attention to a defect in the Transport Board Act bv which the name of the Panmure Town Board, although included in the No. 2 area, had been inadvertently omittedfrom the clause dealing with the election of the Transport Board. He said that the omission was the result of an oversight, and thought it only ordinary justice that the other local bodies should consent to the aPnmure representatives voting, despite the omission. The board agreed to recommend this course to the other bodies
