NEW ATLANTIC LINER. Lord Kylsant announces that the White Star Line’s new vessel of 60,000 tons, for the transatlantic trade. Avill be electrically driven. She will be the largest ship in the world.—A. and N.Z.P.A. SOVIET WOOL FACTORY. A new wool-combing and weaving factory was opened on Saturday at Moscow in the presence of members of the Soviet Government. It cost 5,000,000 roubles, and has 28,000 spindles.—A.P.A.-U.S. FIVE SLAIN BY NEGRO. John Duncree, his wife and their three childdren were fatally shot at New Orleans by an enraged negro whom Duncree had accused of attempting to assault his elder daughter. The negro tried to leap on board a train, but fell and was instantly killed beneath the wheels.—United Service. THIEF ROBS DEAD MAN.-—A commercial traveller. Alexander Spence, aged 53. dropped dead after witnessing an event at the Canterbury races, New South Wales, on Saturday. A thief stole his diamond pin immediately after he fell. A betting ticket for £l4 on the winner of the race was found in his pockets, together with 30 banknotes.
