KINGSFORD’S PLANS

ELABORATE AIR SERVICE LINKING UP AUSTRALIA SYDNEY, Sunday. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant C. T. Ulm have planned an aerial mail and passenger service on an elaborate scale between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, to be started after their visit to America. In addition they will manufacture aircraft for defence and civil purposes, and will also probably commence air services between Brisbane and New Guinea, and Melbourne and Hobart. They favour triple - engined machines, to carry eight to 14 passengers, of a similar type to the Southern Cross. They anticipate making the journey between Melbourne and Brisbane in about 15 hours.
