PETROL DRUMS EXPLODE
MOTOR-LORRY DESTROYED DRIVER ESCAPES INJURY (From Our Own Corespondent) HAMILTON, Saturday. When returning from Te Awamutu to Hamilton with a load of empty . benW J" drums, a lorry owned and driven - Mr. C. Noble, of Hamilton, burst flames at Rukuhia. Mr. Noble stoppe** the vehicle and jumped clear. A violent explosion then occurred % the volatile fumes in the empty drujr; became ignited. The explosion heard a mile away and some of drums were thrown over 50ft into air * wa a The lorry, which was insured, completely destroyed.
