ENCOURAGING INDUSTRY
MR. HARRIS’S IDEAL Encouragement of local industries was the special note struck bu Mr. A. Harris, Reform candidate for Waitemata, in two addresses delivered on Saturday in the districts beyond Takapuna, one at Campbell’s Bay and the other at Mr. J. R. Penning’s residence. East Coast Road. The candidate emphasised the necessity for giving further protection to those industries which utilised as their raw materials such products of-the Dominion as wool, hides and flax. Mr. Harris was well received and was given complimentary votes at both meetings.
