PLANE HITS FENCE

LANDED IN SWAMP Press Association • NAPIER, Sunday. An accident befel Mr. G. Bolt this morning, when flying in the Goodwin Chichester Aviation Company’s Avro Avian biplane. When landing on a ground on the outskirts of Napier the machine struck a swampy patch, and the pilot endeavoured to rise again to recover. The machine left the ground safely, but the top wires of a fence caught the undercarriage and threw the head of the machine toward the ground, with the result that both blades of the propeller snapped off short. The undercarriage of the plane was badly damaged, and one wing was slightly affected. Mr. Bolt and his one passenger were not injured.
