Tenders are invited by the Auckland Harbour Board for the purchase of the leases of the undermentioned sections in the City of Auckland, comprising part of the Old Dock Site:— WITH FRONTAGE TO QUAY STREET: Lots 4, 5. 6,7, 8, 9 and 10. WITH FRONTAGE TO QUAY AND STURDEE STREETS: Lots 11 and 12 WITH FRONTAGE TO STURDEE STREET: Lots 22. 23, 24. 25. 26, 27 and 28. CONDITIONS OF LEASE: The following are the material provisions of the Lease:—Term: Lessees to have the alternative of a 50 years’ lease with increase of rent by 50 per cent.* at the end of 25 years; or of a lease for 21 years, with right of renewal for three further terms of 21 years each (making 84 years in all); lessee to have the option of the rent being fixed by valuation at the end of each 21-year period or of the new lease being put up to public auction; (see provisions of Section 5 of “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908,” and Ist and 2nd Schedules of the Act); lessee to pay rates and taxes; lessee to erect within ten years a building of a height of four storeys (55ft) to the approval cf the Board; lessee to insure, and. in the event of fire, to expend insurance money in rebuilding; lessee not to excavate without consent of the Board; lessee not to carry on any offensive or dangerous trade; lessee not to assign or sub-let without consent of the Board; lessee not to obstruct right-of-way; lessee to contribute to cost of permanent paving and maintenance of right-of-way. Tenders must be endorsed on the envelope “Tender for Lease,” and must be in the hands of the Secretary to Ihe Board by noon of TUESDAY, December 4, 1928.
