FARMING SCIENCE

IMPORTANCE TO COUNTRY Mr. Ebenezer Allan, United candidate for the Hauraki seat, had a great meeting in the Hunua district last evening. A full attendance of settlers was present, Mr. Thos. Lockwood presiding. Mr. Allan was in particularly good form, presenting a constructive criticism of the present Government’s policy. The candidate was strongly in favour of settling the small settler on the land, with such facilities as to make life not only bearable but happy. He strongly urged that the technical side of farming be taught at the schools, for after all farming was the greatest science in the Dominion, ivid proper preparation should be made. A unanimous vote of thanks and confidence was carried with acclamation. Meetings were also held at Paparimu, Happy Valley and Moumoukai during the day.
