ROUSING RECEPTION
MR OSBORNE AT MILFORD Mr. A. G. Osboi-ne, Labour candidate for Waitemata, addressed a large meeting at Glenfield last evening and at the conclusion of the address was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. Later Mi*. Osborne addressed a gathei'ing of over 500 electors at the Greenmill Theatre, Milfoi'd. Mr. M. J. Savage was in attendance holding the fort pending the arrival of Mr. Osborne. When the candidate entered the hall the huge crowd rose to its feet and gave him a rousing reception. The candidate dealt with Labour’s proposals in regard to education, pensions. mothei'hood endowment and health. He was subjected to a running fire of interjections from three United supporters present, but came thi-ough the ordeal with flying colours. Many questions wero asked and Satisfactorily answered by the candidate, and at the conclusion he received a. vote of thanks and confidence with four dissentient voices. This was undoubtedly the largest and most enthusiastic meeting so far held in the electorate.
