“THE GIRL FROM CHICAGO” What is one of the best melodramas of the screen is now winning enthusiastic applause at the Lyric Theatre. Based on one of the amazing mystery stories of Arthur Somers Roche, Warner Bros, present “The Girl From Chicago,” with. Conrad Nagel and Myrna Boy in the starring roles, and a cast including William Russell and Carrol Nye. The exciting action of the production takes place in the underworld of a great city. It has to do with the adventures of Mary Carlton*, a Southern girl, who comes north to save her brother from the gang through whose scheming he has been sentenced to death. My.rna Boy is magnificent. A picture of glorious adventure and stark peril, thrills and love, Is “Riders of the Bark,” the second feature. Tim McCoy is the star. RUSSELL-WOOD RECITAL LEWIS EADY HALL, SATURDAY At the Bewis Eady, Btd., Hall, on Saturday evening next, Mr. W. Russell - Wood, tho well-known elocutionist and teacher of dramatic art, will present a number of his pupils in a grand costume and dramatic recital. A feature of the entertainment will be items by some talented children who seldom appear in public. Two very diverting comedies, “The Invitation” and “Fairy Tales,” will be given by senior pupils, and the whimsical will find expression in an allegorical play “Every Girl.” “The Garden of Omar” will introduce a bevy of girls beautifully costumed in Persian fashion, and Miss' Cecil Hall’s dancers in an attractive ballet. Mr. Birrell O’Malley will be the vocalist in this scene, and Miss Hope Asher will introduce songs into plays.
