APPARATUS REVIEWED
BREMER-TULLY SETS A radio set that is very popular in New Zealand, and which has been found to give excellent results, is the Bremer-Tully. Using a six-valve model a Waitara listener who bought it in November, 1927, up to the end of September this year had logged 28 American, 21 Australian, 10 Japanese and 20 New Zealand stations, a very tine record. The Bremer-Tully is simple to operate and the rejector stage adds to its selectivity. This feature makes it peculiarly suitable for use in town, where there is a broadcast station. Some time ago the writer put together a Bremer-Tully 0 kit set and was delighted with its performance. Using it in the Waikato I had no difficulty in receiving the three big New Zealand stations on the loud-speaker in daylight, and late in the afternoon frequently heard 2BL and 2FC Sydney. At night all New Zealand and Australian stations and several American and Japanese ones were heard with good volume. For the beginner who wants a high-grade set that is simple to handle, and will require little serviceing, the BremerTully can be recommended.
