(From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. In order to demonstrate his contempt for the police, William Fotheringnam. a middle-aged man, jumped cm policeman’s shako, an when arrest* for drunkenness last night. Fotherin - ham landed Constable Harris a straig* left after staunchly resisting to take him to the police station. . charged in the Hamilton Police C °U£ - to-day, accused pleaded guilty to - drunkenness charge, but said he no recollection of the other offence. & indulgence in alcohol cost him 10s, his playfulness with the constable additional 40s.
