HOCKEY PLAYER’S DEATH
TAKEN ILL AT DANCE TO-DAY’S GAMES POSTPONED Press Association TIMARU, To-day. Miss Flora McKenzie, aged 19, a member of the Southland hockey team participating in the Women’s Championship Tournament, died in hospital this morning. She was taken ill at a dance on Saturday, lapsing into unconsciousness, from which she never recovered. It is believed that the cause of death was spinal meningitis. All this morning’s games were postponed.
