Reed. 10.16 a.m. VANCOUVER, Tuesday. A MESSAGE from Glendale, California, says that Mrs. Hannah Chaplin, mother of the comedian, Charles Chaplin, died to-day, aged 65. Charles Chaplin was born in London in 1889, and was educated there. He made’his first appearance on the stage * at the age of seven in a music-hall sketch. He started picture work in 1913, in Keystone comedies, and now he is probably the. most popular screen comedian. His mother, who was also on the stage, was professionally known as Lily Harley.
