NEW MOTOR CARGO-SHIP REACHES AUCKLAND
ON. MAIDEN VOYAGE HIGH-POWERED VESSEL One of four of the highestpowered motor cargo ships afloat, tne Shaw, Savill, and Albion Com* pany’e Coptic, arrived in the stream at Auckland this morning on her maiden voyage. , -The Coptic is the third to visit New Zealand of four vessels recently built for the company. The Taranaki and Zealandic have already been at Auckland. and the fourth, the Karamea, is at present fitting out at Glasgow. She leave Home shortly for the Dominion* and is to make Auckland her first P°rt of call. When fully loaded, the Coptic is capable of averaging 15 knots on a daily fuel consumption of about 35 tons of oil for all purposes. She is 500 feet in sngth, is of the complete superstructure type, and has a long bridge-house with top-gallant forecastle forward. In five of her six holds the 'essel has insulated cargo space of **04.000 cubic feet. Her general cargo space can stow 13,000 bales of wool. the holds are fitted with widely Paced cylindrical pillars for conveniace in stowing cargo.
