NO REDUCTION

DUES ON MAUI POMARE HARBOUR BOARD’S DECISION The Auckland Harbour Board decided at its meeting yesterday not to reduce its claim for dock dues on the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare. The secretary of the Cook Islands Department wrote requesting the board to forward an amended account for out-of-pocket expenses only. The acting-secretary, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, said that the Auckland and Wellington Boards considered that the exemption should'apply to vessels used exclusively for Government purposes, and that Government vessels engaged in trade should pay the same dues as other commercial ships. A motion that the board could not alter its claim, and approved of the Wellington Harbour Board’s attitude, was carried. /
