The victory of Cummings and Moon over the Frenchmen is considered here to be a startling upset. particularly since Borotra and De Buzelet yesterday defeated Higgs and Collins, the English pair. The Frenchmen were erratic, and although occasionally playing dashing tennis they were ununable to cope with the steady, vigorous attack of the Australians. Crawford and Hop man’s victory over Crocker and Wright was easily won. the few games which the Canadians took being gained principally upon the Australians' errors. It was a onesided match, the score accurately rel fleeting the Australians’ overwhelming superiority, both overhead and at the net. Miss Wills and Hawkes defeated Makjorie Gladman and Boussus in the mixed doubles. G —2 G—3.
