STOWAWAY ON NIAGARA
MAN “UP AGAINST IT” Being “up against it’’ and wishing to return to New Zealand, Herbert Scurrah, a carpenter stowed away on the Niagara in Sydney, and consequently appeared at the Police Court this morning. Chief-Detective Hammond said there was nothing criminal about the man. He was merely up against it in Svd. ney. and wished to return to his wife in Auckland. Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., ordered Scurrah to come up for sentence in three months, restitution of £7 in« the amount of the fare, to be ma<£ meanwhile.
