BEACH RINGWORM
MALADY OCCURS AT SYDNEY (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY,* Sunday. The malady known as beach ringworm, which has occurred at several of the bathing centres in Sydney, has been diagnosed as a form of the fungus disease called tinia, or tinia alba, otherwise bhobie itch. It is common in Egypt, where probably the Australian troops were infected. Well-known medical men in Fiji have also investigated the disease at the Rockfeller Institute. Several well-known remedies are recommended by Fiji medical experts as being suitable for treating it.
