MUSIC AND DANCING

LABOUR PARTY FUNCTION A very enjoyable social evening was held by the Papatoetoe branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, in the Papatoetoe Town Hall, on Friday evening. About 100 couples attended and spent a very enjoyable evening in dancing. Messrs. J. Smith and W. Arnott were M.C.’s. A Monte Carlo competition was won by Miss M. Gore and Mr. E. Kelly. Miss Hope Dulihantv gave an elocutionary item entitled "Our New' Baby,” and the Misses Isla Dulihanty and Velma Heaven gave a dance duo. Mrs. Smith, apple green crepe de chine. Mrs. Jenson, wistaria crepe de chine, with diamante. Mrs. frock of old rose georgette, with ecru ’trimmings. Miss I. Mayall, frock of mauve de chine. Miss Jean Robinson, orange georgette, trimmed with lace. .Miss G. Lindsay, sage green crepe de chine and shawl to match. Miss L. Thompson, wild rose pink taffeta. Miss A. Whyte, black crepe de chine with insets of silver. Miss A. McLennand, frock of black charmeuse. Miss E. O’Dennell, frock of tomato velvet. Miss E. Mayall, ivory crepe de chine frock. Miss E. Douglas, frock of banana yellow georgette. Miss Edith Douglas, pale blue embroidered crepe de chine and embroidered shawl. Miss Thompson, frock of wedgewood blue taffeta.
