Motor sales in Australia are splendid, said Mr. Jenkins this morning. * * * Mr. Oswald Brown, of Toorak, Melbourne, is very optimistic about this season’s wheat crop in Ai\tralia. He owns a station, in the Wiramera district, in the wheat-growing area of Victoria. “I have about 5,000 acres in wheat this year,” he remarked this morning, ‘and there was every prospect of a good return. Last year we did very badly.” Mr. and Mrs. Brown are on a holiday trip to Suva, Fiji. * * * Mi*. Tom Mc>ore, the husband of Miss Gladys MoncriefE, is a through passenger for Vancouver. He is enthusiastic over his wife’s success in “Rio Rita” in Sydney. * * * The best-known trainer in Sydney, Mr. George Price, .is on a flying business visit to Auckland and Wellington. His last success on the track was to train the winner which paid what is commonly known as a “hatful.” Mr. Price has also trained such wellknown horses as Windbag and Winalot. He is a Christchurch man, but spent many years in Wellington >efore going into business in Sydney. Mr. A. Collins, Australian and New Zealand representative for the Marconiphone Company, has come to New Zealand to attend a conference of Amalgamated Wireless representatives Jit Wellington.
