SCOTTISH COMEDY

“BUNTY FULLS THE STRINGS” “Bunty Pulls the Strings,” a comedy of Scottish life, by Graham Moffatt. Presented at the concert chabler last evening by the Auckland St. Andrew’s Society. CAST Bunty Lillian Lugton Susie Peggy Hovey Eellen Jessie Barr Teenie Flora Shenkin Tammas J. T>. Swan Weelum Tom Johnstone Kab E. E. Addis Jeems .. .. •• •• •• • • •• G. G. Spicer “Bunty Pulls the Strings” will soon rank as a Scottish classic. It delighted Xew Zealand audiences years ago when played here by the author and it delighted an Auckland audience again last evening. The comedy is just a plain story of life in a Scottish home, and carries conviction by being interpreted by an excellent cast. Mr. Kenneth Brampton, the producer, had some admirable players to complete his task and the season, which will last until Saturday, should be a most successful one. Miss Hovey and Mr. Swan, two players, whose ability has been seen and appreciated in the Little Theatre Society productions, carried the acting honours. Nothing* more delightful could be imagined than these two splendid amateurs acting together in the same cast. Miss Lugton, in the name part, created a favourable impression and made the most of her happy role. Mr. Addis played conscientiously the part of the younger son. The other members of the cast gave admirable support.
