CARDS AND DANCING

CHURCH FUNCTION A very enjoyable social evening, organised by Mrs. W. McAnulty, was held in the Otahuhu Public Hall on Monday evening. There was a large attendance of both card players and dancers, and keen interest displayed in the numerous competitions. A splendid programme of musical numbers was supplied by Moverley’s Orchestra, and Miss E. Moffat played extras. Mr. T. O’Connell acted as M.C. The successful competitors in the dancing competitions were:—Jazz, Mr. Elliott and Miss Alma Walsh; Monte Carlo waltz, Mr. Kelly and Miss Booker. The prizes in the card tournament were won by Mrs. Brosner 1, Mrs. Allison 2, Miss Ellis, consolation, Mr. Turner 1. Mr. McLaughlin 2. Mr McClusky. consolation.
