KOWHAI SCHOOL CLOSING MOUNT ALBERT WILL ASK MINISTER “I hope this talk about the closinc of the Kowhai Junior High School is only a rumour,” said Cr. P. Floyd at the Mount Albert Borough Council meeting last evening. The council had received a resolution from the Edendale School Committee stating that it was desirabi* for the Kowhai School to continue in its present form. Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mayor, hoped that the school would not be closed, and tbo meeting approved of the Edend&lo Committee’s resolution. The Hon. R. A. Wright, Minister o! Education, is to be asked if there is any foundation in the rumour of closing. Cr. J. R. Buckley pointed out that there had been no definite memorandum about closing the school.
