STREET COLLECTIONS ARE UNPOPULAR
“Jt would break your heart to see some of the people come out and want to give their money—l saw that in the charity drive on Saturday,” said Cr. TV. Russell at the Mount Albert Borough Council meeting last evening. The Auckland Play and Recreation Association had written regarding a proposed street collection on August 10, but the council decided to reply that the time was not opportune for a further street collection. “It is not warranted,” declared Cr.
