First Test Team
NEXT SATURDAYS MATCH Lugubrious Prophecies (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Special to Press Association.) Reccl. 9.5 a.m. jMARITZBURG, Friday. THE New Zealand team for to-morrow’s match against Natal will, with two exceptions, be the team to meet South Africa in the first test next Saturday, according to general opinion.
It is as follows: Lindsay Robiliiard Carleton Grenside Strang Johnson Kilby Scrimshaw Stewart Hazlett M. Brownlie Alley McWilliams Swain Hadley The test match exceptions are that Dailey is almost certain to play halfback, and Finlayson is certain to go on the side of the scrum, in place of McWilliams. It is surprising that the selection committee continues to play Carleton. On his performances to date Carleton is a great defensive player, but be is not reliable in attack. Several times he has dropped passes when the wings were in a scoring position. Dailey has had a touch of influenza. Probably he will have recovered by next Saturday.
