Mr F Elliot arrived in Auckland this morning by the first express.

Mr T. G. Julian left for the South by the Limited last evening. Archdeacon E. M. Cowie, of Hamilton is confined to his home through illness. Mr. Robert Burns returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to the South. Judge Jones, of the Native Land Court, left for the South by the Limited last evening. Mr. Scott Ramsay, of Christchurch, arrived in Auckland yesterday and is staying at Royal Court. Mr. Beaumont Smith, of J. C. Williamson Films, was a passenger for the South last evening. Mrs. H. H. Sterling, wife of the general manager of tho railways, arrived from the South to-day and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. Coodfellow. managing director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, left by the Marama for Sydney yesterday. Mr. K. C. Stewart was admitted yesterday, by Mr. Justice MacGregor, as a solicitor of the Supreme Court, on the motion of Mr. F. L. G. West. Mr. Justice Blair left Hamilton last evening for Wellington, where he is to attend a meeting of the Appeal Court. He will return to Hamilton in three weeks’ time, when the civil sittings will be resumed. Mr. G. L. Taylor, president of the New Zealand Dental Association, and Dr. J. Warren, left by train for Wellington last evening. They will attend the annual conference of the association. Mr. Maurice Guttridge. director of the Regent Orchestra, will return on Monday from Dunedin, where he organised the orchestra for the New Regent Theatre. HOTEL REGISTER Grand. —Mr. C. A.
