MISSING LINE COMPETITION
The brief visit of Mrs. Tippitoes to Happy Town proved very popular and the Dawn Lady has had an amusing time judging this competition. The chicks were fed in “separate lots of six,” on “ground up bricks,” on “liquorice sticks,” and in many other ways not yet attempted in modern poultry yards. The prize has been won by Irene Retter, 16 Inverness Avenue, Mount Roskill (aged 11), for the followingentry:— Old Mrs. Tippitoes has half a hundred chicks; She feeds them every morning and each one lays at six; She feeds them every evening, or so the neighbours say, So old Mrs. Tippitoes gets 50 eggs a day.
