RETURN OF MOSCOVITCH

IN “THE SILENT HOUSE” Maurice Moscovitch and the brilliant company that supported him in “The Ringer” and “The Terror” recently are returning to His Majesty’s for a season of seven nights, commencing on Thursday, June 28, in a new melodrama, “The Silent House.” It is a Chinese mystery play full of sensations. Written by John G. Brandon and Ceorge Piggett, the piece is still one of London’s biggest successes. The plot is a most remarkable one, and while the audience is thrilled and

thrilled again by repeated succeeding dramatic scenes, there is plenty of humour in this play to relieve the ten-

sion. “Never before in the history of Australian drama has there been such a dramatic effort as that of Maurice Moscovitch in “The Silent House,” said the critic when the play was produced for the first time in the Dominion. “It was terrifying and one could almost look into the soul of the unfortunate being who saw the sword of death hovering above.” The company supporting Moscovitch in this masterpiece of drama include Patric Curwen, Nat Madison, Roger Barry. Ashton Jarry, Bertha Riccardo, George Blunt and Herbert Leigh. The box plans for the season open on Monday, June 25, at Lewis Eady, Ltd.
