Old Peking Awaits New Master’s Entry
RIVALS FOR POWER TROOPS OUTSIDE WALLS British Wireless—Press Assn. —Copyright RUGBY, Friday. Telegraph and telephone communication between Peking and the outside world has been interrupted. The latest information is that the city continues to be quiet, although a tense atmosphere exists. The entry of the Southerners is imminent and Shansi troops and the Kuominchun troops of General Feng Yu-Hsiang are outside the wall.
According to latest information from Peking, which was dated yesterday, tile Shansi troops of General Yen were then outside the north gate of the city end the Kuominchun troops of Feng to-Hsiang outside the southern gate, a M the doubt existed in the city as to Yhich troops would enter.
