BIG CLASSIC ENTRIES NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICE Nominations for office-bearers of the Avondale Jockey Club closed at noon to-day, and are as follows: President, Mr. Donald McLeod; vice-president, Mr. A. Davis; committee (five seats), Messrs. W. Fallon, J. E. Wells, J. Archibald, Dr. Murphy (retiring members!, IT. Cleal and G. McCarthy. An election will be necessary for the committee. Mr. A. Burt, one of the retiring members, did not seek re-elec-tion. Large entries were received for the classics, there being 78 in the Avondale Stakes, 125 in the Avondale Guineas, and 132 in the All Aged Stakes.
