FAR EAST FLIGHT
AUSTRALIAN VENTURE TRIP STARTS ON FRIDAY CUnited P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10.30 a.m. CANBERRA, To-day. The aviator. Mr. L. Wackett. leaves Sydney for Singapore on Friday, in pursuance of a proposal for the development of Empire air routes. The Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Bruce, states that a Far-Eastern flight was arranged at the last Imperial Conference. Four of the Supermarine Southampton flying-boats are now at Singapore, and are preparing to return to Melbourne with Mr. Wackett and his flying companions. AIR MAIL SERVICE Night flying will be a feature of the East to West mail service between Perth and Adelaide, which is being established shortly. The Government is now forming landing grounds. It is expected that the air mail will make a difference of a week in the delivery of letters to the eastern States from Britian.
