TE KUITI BENEFIT MATCH ASSISTING A CRICKETER A benefit cricket match is to be played at Te Kuiti to-morrow between teams representing railway and stock firms and professions. The proceeds are in aid of Mr. F. Jenyns captain of both the railway cricket team and the Te Kuiti Football Club. Mr. Jenyns is at present an inmate of the Hamilton Hospital, and will be there for some considerable time, suffering from a spinal complaint. POWER FOR THAMES VALLEYSUCCESSFUL CONFERENCE Messrs. S'. M. Strange, chairman. R. Sprague, manager, and W. M. McLeod, chief engineer of the Thames Valley Rower Board, returned yesterday from Wellington where, with officials of the Mew Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, they Interviewed the Minister of Public V."orlts and the chief electrical engineer of the department. The board was recently advised by the department that it could not continue an arrangement after March 31 to guarantee a continuous supply of electric current to the company s factories in the board’s district. Mr. Strange said he was glad to report that an arrangement satisfactory to the board and its consumers had been brought about as a result of tile conference. He could not, however, disclose the details until his board had met again on May 1.
