THEFT FROM EMPLOYERS
TWO MEN CHARGED Press Association. ■ WELLINGTON, Thursday.' The police who watched the premines of Derbyshires, Ltd., arrested Harry Driver, a storeman, who was found leaving at. 8.30 p.m. with a parcel of goods belonging to the firm, and valued at £4O. He was charged to-day with the theft of the goods, also with obtaining £39 by false pretences. Alfred Mcßurney, another storeman, was charged with receiving the stolen goods from Driver. Both pleaded guilty to false pretences, which were worked by false vouchers signed by Mcßurney for packing ca*s allegedly bought by Driver under an arrangement with his employers. Driver was remanded for sentence till to-morrow, and Mcßurney was placed on probation for 12 months.
