NAVY SCANDAL
ADMIRALTY BOARD CONSIDERS CASE STATEMENT TO COMMONS British "Wireless—Press Assn.—Copyright Reed. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Monday. The Board of Admiralty met at the Admiralty to-day to consider the Royal Oak case. It is understood that in addition to the official reports of the courts-martial held at Gibraltar, the board had before it the considered opinion of the Judge Advocate of the Fleet, Mr. Charles M. Pitman, who has been examining the reports. Among those present at to-day's meeting were the Right Hon. W. C. Bridgeman. First Lord of the Admiralty, the four Sea Lords, Rear-Ad-miral W. W. Fisher, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, and Sir Oswvn Murray, permanent secretary to the Admiralty. It is expected that Mr. Bridgeman will make a full statement in the House of Commons to-morrow.
The Board of Admiralty has power to alter or quash the sentences passed on Captain G. CL Dewar and Commander H. M. Daniel, who were severely reprimanded and ordered to he dismissed their ships. The board meets only on occasions of extreme importance.
