VALUELESS CHEQUE
MAN ON PROBATION Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. An echo of the recent police raid on the Premier Club was heard in the Police Court to-day, when George Fisher, a labourer, pleaded guilty to being found in a common gaming-house and obtaining £6 by means of a valueless cheque. It was stated that accused had presented the cheque to a restaurant proprietor, who subsequently managed to get £4 back.
