DOMINION’S WOMEN
MANY FOR ROYAL COURTS An unusually larg-e number of women from the Dominions are expected to be among- those presented 'at their Majesties’ Courts during the coming season (says the “Daily Mail” of January 5). At last year’s Courts Australia was most largely represented among the Dominions, 60 residents of that country being presented at the third Court. Canada and. New Zealand were also largely represented. South Africa’s representatives this year are expected to exceed the number from that country last year. “Only in a very few exceptional cases will applications received after the appointed day (last Tuesday) be considered.” said an official of the Lord Chamberlain’s department vesterday. It is largely to overseas visitors that this latitude applies, the utmost consideration being shown to Dominion visitors. Sometimes, owing to business and other reasons, people from overseas do not know for certain when they can make the journey.
