MR. CHARLES SPEIGHT DEAD

PROMINENT DUNEDIN MAN . (Special to TEE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Mr. Charles Speight, o£ Dunedin, died suddenly at Christchurch this evening. He was a director of New Zealand Breweries, Ltd., and manager of Speight’s' (Dunedin) branch of that firm.

Mr. Speight was a prominent citizen of Dunedin. His father was Mr. James Speight, who settled in Dunedin in 1861, and who in 1876 founded the well-known brewing firm. Mr. Charles Speight, who was born in 1865, was a vice-president of the recent Dunedin Exhibition, and received the C.B.E. for his services.
