GRATIFYING EFFICIENCY

TAUMARUNUI PUBLIC SCHOOLS Taumarunui has reason to be proud of its primary and secondary schools, as the reports to hand from the Inspectors of the Auckland Education Board indicate that there is a very high standard of efficiency in both departments. The reports state that welldevised schemes of instruction on the best lines are in operation in both schools, and other school activities are well arranged for. Referring to the secondary school mention is made that the highest form is exceptionally well taught, and the success of the pupils in Departmental and other examinations is especially commendable. Order, discipline, tone, and work-spirit were excellent all through. The roll at the secondary schools shows an increase of 36 pupils, indicating that parents in the town and surrounding districts are showing increasing confidence in the abilities of the local schools teaching staffs.
