LOCATING POWER-LINE FAULT

EFFICIENT INSTRUMENTS USED The value of locating faults in power-lines was demonstrated recently when the Auckland ElectricPower Board staff was called upon to find a fault in the extra high tension cables between King's Wharf and Kingsland, which interrupted the Mount Albert and Edendale supplies for a short period. The linemen worked from the respective ends, and in a surprisingly short time traced the fault to within six feet. This was commended by the chairman of the board, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. who said yesterday that the employment of efficient instruments was saving the board much money and conserving the time of the staff.
