M He said that recently his comp**’ had opened a factory in Sydney & that it was doing very welL Mr. Patterson says that the rubb* ® market is very firm at present & a there is no sign of a shoi tage. Mo* of the rubber used for the manuf&ctifl* of tyres comes from the Malay Stat* There is a good deal of the wild P* « duct obtainable from Brazil, bat tb natives are lazy and it is difficult & * commercialise the rubber from tb* • part of the world.
